Kaveh Mousavi breaks Iran hammer throw record

TEHRAN – Hammer thrower Kaveh Mousavi has broken Iran’s record on Thursday.

He has broken the record with a personal best throw of 75.26 meters in the Iran Grand Prix Competitions which is underway in Shahrekord.
Mousavi, who has won silver medal in the 16th Asian Games Guangzhou 2010 with a throw of 68.90, bettered his own record by 2.26 meters.
“I am so happy to better my own record. According to IAAF rules, I have qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games with this throw. I will have to continue my training to get the best results in the Asian championship. ” Mousavi said.
The 19th edition of Asian Athletics Championship will be held in Kobe, Japan from 7th to 10th July
